3 Reasons Why Our New Menu is Better for You

A lot of people have been wondering why Fete Up has revamp our menu after nearly three years of operations. Here are the 3 main reasons why we believe our new menu can help achieve a healthier and better you:

1. Each box provides what you need nutritionally

Our new menu is carefully designed so that you can take in what you need nutritionally: 

– A balanced portion of high quality Carbohydrates, Protein and Fats.

– Eat your 5 Colours a day – each colour in fruits & vegetables is caused by specific phytonutrients, and has its own unique health benefits. Eating all 5 colours will ensure you won’t miss key nutrients your body needs.

– Each box is very high in Vitamins and Minerals thanks to the variety of ingredients it contains.

– Each box is topped with Flax Seeds and Pumpkin Seeds, which is high in plant-based Omega-3, and gives a good ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids ratio.

2. Increase in Bioavailability

Certain food combination not only help enhance the taste but also complement nutritionally with each other, i.e. help boost the efficiency of the nutrition absorption in your body. Our Executive Chef William, had done a lot of research and came out with the combination of foods in our box that can help increase bioavailability!

Eating enough protein is very important for your body to build muscle. However, this process needs another essential element – Potassium. Chickpea, Pumpkin and Kale are good example of food that are high in potassium. Fun fact! Beans and Brown rice are made for each other! This combination forms a complete protein (i.e. contain all 9 essential amino acids) and is found to boost muscle building!

Good fats that can be found in seeds, olive oil and coconut oil, help Vitamin K absorption, which is found in Kale, Butterhead lettuce, Broccoli and Cauliflower. This also applies to other fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A (in Pumpkin, Kale and Broccoli), Vitamin D (Chicken) and Vitamin E (Pumpkin and seeds). These fats are also important for beta-carotene and lycopene intake, which you can find in Tomatoes and Pumpkin.

Each box is high in Vitamin C content, which also helps your body absorb plant-based iron found in legumes. 

Another duo antioxidants are sulforaphanes & selenium. When combined, their total antioxidant power increases exponentially, and adding kale (sulforaphanes) and lean meat/brown rice (selenium) can give you this effect.

Each box is also high in protein and fibrous carbohydrates, which help curb hunger (so you won’t eat too much!) and give you extra energy boost throughout the day!

We understand eating healthy is a lifestyle, and so we have increased our varieties and choices in our menu. We have increased our protein options, and put in different vegetables and legume choices to suit different tastes. There are 8 different sauces to choose from for a much wider flavour profile.
